Les Saintes: What to do when you get there ?

Discover the activities to do in Les Saintes! Accessible by boat from the commune of Trois-Rivières in Basse-Terre, the archipelago of the Saintes islands is a little corner of paradise in Guadeloupe!

Located in the Caribbean Sea, south of Basse-Terre, the Saintes archipelago is made up of 9 islands. The two largest, Terre-de-Haut and Terre-de-Bas, are the only inhabited ones. The first place you will arrive by boat is Terre-de-Haut, from the commune of Trois-Rivières in Basse-Terre! There you will find Fort Napoleon, a historic site that every visitor to Les Saintes must see: its position in the heights of the island will give you beautiful panoramic views of the archipelago! The Chameau viewpoint (309 m above sea level), located in the south of Terre-de-Haut and being the highest point of all the Saintes islands, will also delight those in search of beautiful landscapes.

The small islands of the Saintes can easily be visited on foot through several hiking trails, or by mountain bike. However, it is necessary to take a boat trip to reach each of the other islets of the archipelago: the islet of Cabrit in the north of Terre-de-Haut, Le Pâté in the north of Terre-de-Bas, Les Roches Percées opposite the beach of Pompierre, La Redonde, La Coche, Les Augustins and the Grand-Îlet in the south of the archipelago. You can't help but be won over by the beauty of each of these wild islets!

A stopover in Les Saintes is also synonymous with all kinds of water sports. Whether it's for simple swimming on the beaches of Anse Rodrigue, Anse Crawen and Anse Figuier, snorkeling on the beaches of Anse du Pain de Sucre and Anse Mire, diving and canoeing around the islets, or kitesurfing along the windy beach of Grande Anse, there is something for everyone to enjoy in the Caribbean Sea!

Between its magnificent setting and the activities that can be done there, the Saintes archipelago is worth a visit at least for a day during a trip to Guadeloupe!
