Set on Morocco’s sun-drenched Atlantic coast, Agadir has become a magnet for surfers seeking both adventure and authenticity. The city’s sweeping bay, framed by the distant outline of the Anti-Atlas mountains and the scent of eucalyptus from nearby Souss-Massa National Park, creates a unique backdrop for wave riding. Here, the rhythm of the ocean shapes daily life, with the call to prayer mingling with the sound of breaking surf. Agadir’s golden beaches stretch north towards the legendary surf villages of Taghazout and Tamraght, offering a blend of vibrant local culture and the timeless allure of the sea. Whether you are drawn by the promise of consistent swells, the warmth of the Moroccan sun, or the relaxed atmosphere of the coast, surfing in Agadir is an invitation to experience the Atlantic in its purest form.

Taking to the waves in Agadir is both exhilarating and accessible. The coastline offers a mosaic of surf spots, from mellow beach breaks like Banana Beach, ideal for learning, to the more challenging right-handers at Anchor Point, where experienced surfers can carve along glassy walls. Sessions typically last two to three hours, with the cool Atlantic spray contrasting against the sun-warmed sand underfoot. The water’s hue shifts from deep blue to emerald as the light changes, and the salty breeze carries the distant aroma of grilled sardines from the port. Paddling out, you’ll feel the gentle pull of the tide, the anticipation of the next set, and the thrill as you catch your first wave. Between rides, there are moments of quiet, floating beyond the break, before the next surge of energy arrives. The variety of terrain, from sandy stretches to rocky points, ensures that every session offers new sensations and challenges.

Local surf instructors in Agadir are passionate ambassadors of the region’s outdoor culture. Many grew up along these shores and bring a deep knowledge of the tides, currents, and best spots for every ability. Lessons and guided sessions include all necessary equipment, from soft-top boards for beginners to high-performance shortboards for advanced riders, as well as wetsuits to ensure comfort in the Atlantic’s cool waters. Safety is a priority, with instructors certified in first aid and surf rescue, and group sizes kept small for personalised attention. The surf schools and camps are welcoming, with a focus on building skills, confidence, and respect for the ocean. Logistics are straightforward, with easy access from Agadir’s city centre and nearby accommodations, making it simple to fit a surf session into any itinerary.

Agadir’s surf season peaks from October to April, when Atlantic swells are most consistent and the weather remains mild, though summer offers gentler conditions ideal for beginners. The region caters to all levels, from first-timers to seasoned surfers seeking new challenges. While many spots are accessible to novices, a basic level of fitness and swimming ability is essential, as surfing demands balance, stamina, and comfort in the water. Families, solo travellers, and groups will all find options tailored to their needs, with lessons, surf camps, and guided excursions available. We started from their base, went along the beach, up to the mountain, had traditional tea and bread, and drove back again. It was a great experience - a lot of fun and incredible views!

Good. Had to go back and forth for the transfer from my hotel as it was out of their pick-up radius. But accepted the fault on their part and collected me, please update the details on how far you pick people up from their hotel. Then there will be no problems
