Descending into the canyons near Kalamata, such as the famed Ridomo or Viros gorges, is an experience that unfolds with every step. Routes typically begin with a gentle hike through maquis shrubland, where sunlight filters through plane trees and the air carries the coolness of mountain streams. As you progress, the terrain shifts—smooth rock faces, narrow passages, and crystal-clear pools invite you to jump, slide, abseil, and swim. The temperature of the water is refreshing, especially in the warmth of late spring, and the interplay of light and shadow on the canyon walls creates a dynamic, ever-changing landscape. Each descent offers moments of quiet contemplation, broken by bursts of adrenaline as you navigate natural slides or rappel beside waterfalls. The contrasts between tranquil pools and lively rapids, between sunlit ledges and shaded corridors, make every outing distinct.

The kayaking was suitable for all levels - beginners were well looked after and some more experienced were given a chance to try capsize drills. We saw some lovely beaches and caves and there was excellent narration and guiding including local history and legend
Ideaal ! Grote aanrader.
We had the best time on this excursion! They guides were very organized and prepared and very personable and fun! The trip through the canyon with the jumps and rappelling was so much fun!! Our two teenage boys said it was the best thing we’ve done in Greece! Even the little picnic at the end was such a fun experience!
