Les chevaux du Maido

Les Chevaux du Maïdo is a riding school and equestrian tourism centre that opened in 2013, situated in the highlands of western Réunion, near the famous Piton Maïdo.

A team of enthusiasts and a fine herd of horses welcome you all year round to help you discover – or rediscover – the joys of horse riding and trail rides in a magnificent setting.

The team consists of one pony instructor and two horse instructors, who are on hand to provide you with the best possible support whilst riding your best friend. The wellbeing of both horse and rider is at the heart of this equestrian centre. The horses live freely in a herd all year round, and you’ll have access to suitable facilities: a lunging ring for beginners (a round before every ride), a 55x40 riding arena, an outdoor resting area, and more. The club is affiliated with the FFE and holds the Animal Welfare, French Riding School and Equestrian Tourism labels.

Whether you’re young or old, there’s something for everyone: leisurely rides, trail rides, classical or cross-country riding lessons, natural horsemanship, as well as themed courses, introductory or advanced courses, pony rides for the little ones, and more.
