Learn more about Tahaa Lagoon Kayak
Self-guided sea kayak rentals in the Tahaa lagoon with safety briefings and full equipment to explore the Coral Garden and local motus at your own pace.
Tahaa Lagoon Kayak is a family-run business founded in 2024 in Tapuamu, on the island of Tahaa in French Polynesia. The company provides sea kayak rentals designed for independent exploration of the "Vanilla Island" waters, specifically around the Coral Garden and nearby motus. You navigate at your own rhythm using a fleet of recent, stable, and well-maintained kayaks. Each rental includes high-quality paddles, life jackets in various sizes, dry bags for electronic devices, and a detailed lagoon map to assist with orientation toward the best natural landmarks.
Safety is a core priority, with a comprehensive technical briefing conducted before every departure. This session covers local navigation rules, daily weather analysis, and the identification of specific areas to avoid, such as strong currents or passes. Participants are also briefed on eco-responsible practices, including reef preservation and wildlife respect, to ensure navigation without coral damage. A communication method is required for constant contact with the base, and life jackets must be worn at all times.
