Rafting on the Jacques-Cartier River from Saint-Gabriel-de-Valcartier with a worker-owned cooperative certified by Aventure Écotourisme Québec.
Expéditions Nouvelle Vague is a worker-owned cooperative founded in 2010 in Saint-Gabriel-de-Valcartier, representing over 15 years of activity in the Jacques-Cartier region. Rafting excursions take place on a 9.6 km stretch of river featuring rapids ranging from Class III to V, including technical sections such as Hache-Viande and Surprise. Each raft is steered by an experienced guide positioned at the rear, supported by an additional safety guide in a kayak for every group. These descents are accessible to participants without prior whitewater experience, as a full safety briefing is provided before departure. The base facilities include changing rooms, showers, a large car park, a terrace, and outdoor volleyball courts. Committed to sustainable tourism, the organization follows Leave No Trace Canada principles and maintains professional memberships with Aventure Écotourisme Québec and Eau Vive Québec. All guides hold certifications in first aid and swiftwater rescue to ensure industry-standard safety protocols.
