Activity description
Conquer the rapids of the infamous Soča River on this packrafting excursion in the Soča Valley, Slovenia.
Voted the BEST whitewater trip in Slovenia, the emerald waters on the banks of the Soča might look good enough to swim in - but travel further downriver and you'll realize why this deceptive natural beauty is also home to some of Europe's most challenging rapids. Come try packrafting, do not hesitate! Whether you are a beginner or an experienced rafter or kayaker, a fun adventure is guaranteed.
Packrafts are super light, they are easy to carry, and they are little playboats but they are still stable and very easy to control for everyone. Packrafting is very enjoyable from the first moment. Our guides accompany you in a packraft to teach you the techniques, he will show you the line and ensure your safety.
Location
The namesake river that connects Slovenia to its Italian cousin, the Soča Valley is accredited as a European Destination of Excellence (EDEN) due to its sustainable development and stunning scenery. The river source is in the village of Bovec, situated in the Trenta Valley and Triglav National Park - named after Mt. Triglav, the highest peak in Slovenia. Nearby, Boka Waterfall (144m) has the most abundant flow of water in Slovenia that flows into the rapids and channels of the main river source.
Activity
The tour begins at our Raft Shack located in the center of Bovec. Here we will complete your registration for the trip. Next, we will issue you all the necessary personal equipment (PFD, helmet, neoprene clothing and shoes). Then we will travel for about ten minutes to the river. Here you will change into your personal equipment issued earlier. Your experienced and certified guide will then give you a complete introduction, including safety instructions and paddling techniques. Then off you’ll go for an hour and a half of unforgettable packrafting! At the end of your trip, you will change back into your dry clothes. Finally, we will drive back to our base, where we see the pictures taken by your guides during the trip.
The season starts at the end of April and finishes in October.
The peak season: Middle of July - August is when the river is crowded.
