About the activity

Towering above the rooftops of the Alpine capital, you’ll feel the void beneath your feet as you traverse this unique ridge route. The Klettersteig via ferrata offers a striking contrast between the lively Inn Valley below and the silence of the high mountains. As you progress along the limestone of the Nordkette, you’ll face the glittering glaciers of the main Alpine ridge while overlooking Innsbruck’s historic rooftops more than 1,700 metres below.

The route stretches over 3.5 kilometres of continuous lifeline, crossing seven iconic summits of the Nordkette range. Under the supervision of certified mountain guides, you’ll begin with an original suspension bridge before tackling the Seegrubenspitze (2,350 m) and the three Kaminspitzen, culminating at 2,445 m. The progression is varied, alternating between exposed ridge paths, steep wall sections and demanding rocky towers that require constant focus.

This activity is ideal for sporty beginners and intermediate climbers looking for a safe yet immersive vertical experience. Modern safety equipment is provided by the guiding team, allowing you to fully focus on the sensations and your movement on the rock. Due to the high altitude—reaching 2,480 m at the summit of the Kemacher—a good level of fitness is required to enjoy each technical section without fatigue.

The season generally runs from June to October, when the Nordkette sheds its last patches of snow to reveal dry and panoramic terrain. Ready to link seven summits in a single day? Book your via ferrata in Innsbruck now and step onto one of Tyrol’s most thrilling aerial routes.
