Open to all ages, the Labyrinthe Coureur des Bois is ideal if you are looking for a family activity near Trois-Rivières in Mauricie. As well as a labyrinth, the site has a terrace café, a mini-farm and hiking trails that appeal to adults and children alike. So you can spend a few hours here without fear of getting bored, thanks in particular to one of the 3 games on offer for a complete immersion in the park! After receiving an introduction to the great coureurs des bois of the 17th century, a fur demonstration and a presentation of the main objects used for bartering with the First Nations, you can take part in one of the 3 immersive games in the Labyrinthe Coureur des Bois :

  • Jean Nicolet Game - In Search of Animals - 45 min. to 1 hour of fun for the very young, who will have to find the animals hidden in the cedars and associate them with the trading post, with an introduction to the world of furs and history;
  • Marie-Anne Gaboury Game - The Edible Flora Route - 1 to 1.5 hours of play with a herbalist's notebook, enabling you to discover edible and medicinal plants as you make your way through the maze and the great forest;
  • Pierre-Esprit Radisson Game - The game in which you are the hero - 1.5 to 2 hours of play on different routes with the aim of collecting as many beaver pelts as possible and getting back south before the rivers freeze over, ideal for adventurers!

Once your game is over, you will have the pleasure of sampling a surprising drink at the Café-Terrasse: anti-scurvy herbal tea. It is up to you to decide whether you would like to accompany it with a snack or any other drink (at your own expense)! This little moment of relaxation will be perfect for debriefing your experience at the Labyrinthe Coureur des Bois, a not-to-be-missed family site in Saint-Mathieu-du-Parc, just a 40-minute drive from Trois-Rivières!
