Try your hand at ice climbing at Mont-Tremblant and discover a whole new world of climbing sensations!

A sensational experience not to be missed this winter if you are heading to the Laurentians, this ice climbing discovery lesson in Mont-Tremblant offers an introduction to this winter sport at Mont-Tremblant itself, on a natural frozen waterfall located below the Tremblant cable car. Whether you have tried ice climbing before or it is your very first time, this introductory ice climbing lesson at Mont-Tremblant is sure to give you a thrill!

For around 1.5 hour, a qualified instructor will teach you the belay technique and movements specific to ice climbing. Equipped with everything you need (helmet, crampons and ice axes), all that is left to do is climb the frozen waterfall and enjoy the beautiful views of the surrounding area from the heights!

Open to children aged 8 and over, this introductory ice climbing lesson in Mont-Tremblant is waiting to give you a taste of the joys of climbing in the middle of winter!

Course of events

- Meeting with the instructor at The Mont-Tremblant Activity Centre

- Heading to the ice climbing site just a few steps from the base

- Equipment and safety briefing

- Start of the introductory ice-climbing course, lasting approximately 1.5 hour

- End of the course, de-equipping and end of the activity

Maximum weight: 250 lbs (113 kg)

For the harness :
Waist: 58-107 cm (23-42 in)
Thigh: 43-71 cm (17-28 in)

Children under the age of 13 must be accompanied by someone aged 13 or more (person who is not obliged to attend the course).

A minimum number of 2 adults participants is required for this activity to take place.

Ski boots must be worn to take part in the course.

Special terms

Pregnant people cannot participate in this activity.

It is not uncommon to rip your trousers with crampons during this activity: remember to wear an old pair of waterproof snow trousers so you don't get in trouble if you rip your trousers, but also to protect yourself from the ice.
