About the activity
Glide through the snow-covered forests of the Pourvoirie du Lac-Beauport on a one-hour dog sled ride guided by professional mushers, and enjoy an unforgettable winter escape. Perfect for families or anyone wishing to immerse themselves in Québec’s magical winter landscapes while bonding with northern sled dogs, this activity offers a genuine taste of the region’s wilderness—just a 20-minute drive from downtown Québec City.
Upon arrival, you’ll meet Tony and Mike, two passionate and experienced brothers who founded their small family-run business with one goal in mind: to offer authentic rides that prioritise the wellbeing of their animals. Their pack of 30 dogs is intentionally small, allowing them to give each dog the care and attention it deserves. Most of the dogs are Alaskans crossed with other northern breeds such as Greenland Huskies and Malamutes. After meeting the team and helping to prepare the sleds, you’ll set off into the beautiful forest of the Pourvoirie du Lac-Beauport—either as a passenger or as the driver of your own sled.
Let the spirited team of dogs carry you through snow-laden pine trails and breathtaking mountain scenery. Over the course of about an hour, you’ll breathe in the crisp winter air and even reach speeds of up to 15 km/h. For your comfort and safety, each outing includes a maximum of six sleds: two driven by professional mushers and four reserved entirely for participants (two people per sled: one driver and one passenger). This small-group format ensures a personal and enjoyable dog sledding experience in Québec City.
When you return to the kennel, take your time to cuddle the dogs and chat with the mushers about your adventure. If you wish, you can extend your experience with a relaxing fireside moment, learning more about the fascinating world of mushing (optional).
If you’re looking to go dog sledding in Québec City, don’t miss this peaceful escape into the heart of the Pourvoirie du Lac-Beauport. Whether you’re riding as a passenger or taking the reins yourself, you’re guaranteed an authentic and unforgettable adventure!
