Experience meditative silence and peace in the middle of the Arctic forest by floating on a frozen lake in Levi. Welcoming adventurers from ages 4 and up!
Levi is a popular destination in northern Finland for winter sports enthusiasts. It is located just north of the Arctic Circle, resulting in snowy and icy conditions during the winter months. Levi is known for its stunning natural landscapes, including forests, mountains and lakes, which transform into a white wonderland during these times.
This ice floating experience begins at the starting point in Levi, with pick up available from specified locations upon booking. There, you will meet your experienced guide, who will take you through some safety instructions and the plan for the day. You will travel into the snowy forests to a magnificent frozen lake. A high-quality rescue suit will be provided, which will keep you warm and dry even in the open 0-degree waters!
Once you have dressed in the floating suit, the guide will help you into the lake and show you how to safely float in the water. No swimming experience is required as the professional guide will give you all of the instructions. Experience the total peace and silence of floating on the calm water surrounded by snow-topped trees. As you breathe in the clean, fresh air, you will feel your mind and body start to relax. After your floating adventure, hot drinks will be served to warm you up. The guide will then transfer you back to your starting point in Levi.

Course of events

- Please arrive at the meeting point 20 minutes prior to the departure time
- Transfer
- Meet your experienced guide
- Put on ice-floating gear (thermal flotation suit, gloves, and boots)
- Safety briefing and introduction to ice floating
- The ice floating adventure begins!
- Enjoy hot drinks
- Return to the original departure point
Activity requirements
Participants must measure at least 120 cm (3'9") to participate in this activity, in order to fit into the floating suit.
In addition, a minimum of 2 participants is required to run this experience. If the anticipated number is not reached, you will be offered a full refund or the chance to reschedule.
