Experience the relaxation of ice floating on a frozen lake in the Levi wilderness beneath the magical Northern Lights.
Levi is a well-known winter resort located in Finnish Lapland, in the northern part of the country. Levi is renowned for its stunning natural landscapes, particularly during the winter months when it transforms into a popular destination for winter sports and activities. Thanks to its location in the Arctic Circle, Levi also provides an excellent opportunity to witness the Northern Lights during this time when the nights are long and dark.
This activity takes place from Levi, you have the choice to either meet at the starting point or be picked up from one of the listed locations (please specify upon booking). After meeting your experienced guide, you will travel away from the village and into the remote wilderness. When you arrive at the magnificent frozen lake in the middle of the forest, you will change into warm Arctic gear and a high-quality floating suit. With your own layers on underneath the rescue suit, you won’t even feel the cold as you float in the 0-degree open waters!
The guide will give you some safety instructions and show you how to get into the water and float on your back. No swimming knowledge is necessary as the professional guide will teach you how to float safely. Lie back, relax and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. In this remote location away from the city pollution, the dark night sky should be clear and full of stars. If you’re lucky, the mesmerising Northern Lights will appear above you as you float. This is a truly once-in-a-lifetime experience! After the ice floating, hot drinks will be served around a campfire while you continue to admire the Aurora Borealis. You will then be transferred back to the starting point in Levi.

- Put on ice-floating gear (thermal flotation suit, gloves, and boots)
- Safety briefing and introduction to ice floating
- The ice floating adventure begins!
- Admire the Northern Lights
- Enjoy hot drinks
- Return to the original departure point
Activity requirements
Participants must measure at least 120 cm (3'9") to participate in this activity, in order to fit into the floating suit.
In addition, a minimum of 2 participants is required to run this experience. If the anticipated number is not reached, you will be offered a full refund or the chance to reschedule.
