Snowmobile Excursion to the SnowVillage from Ylläsjärvi

You should plan to spend around 3.5 hours on this activity:

• Pick-up at your accommodations in Ylläsjärvi or Äkäslompolo if you're in a big group
• Arrival at the meeting point and introduction to your instructor
• Safety and activity briefing
• Equipment distribution
• Snowmobiling instructions
• Start of your 3-hour (approximately 20km) snowmobiling excursion from Ylläsjärvi
• 60 to 90-minute visit to the SnowVillage
• Return to the meeting point
• Equipment return
• Drop-off at your accommodations and end of activity

Please arrive at the meeting point or the pick-up point for the excursion at least 20 minutes before the set time.

A minimum of 2 paying adults is required to run this activity.

All minors must be accompanied by an adult.

The snowmobile driver must be at least 18 years old and hold a valid driving license recognized in Finland. Operating a motorized vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs is strictly prohibited by Finnish law.

Children under 140 cm tall must ride in a sledge during the safari. Children over 140 cm tall may ride as passengers on a snowmobile if seats are available, subject to the guide’s final safety decision. If a child over 140 cm wishes to ride as a passenger, an adult price will be charged, and the booking must be made as an adult.

Two people typically share a snowmobile, with the option to switch drivers halfway through the tour. However, if you want to drive your snowmobile alone, you can choose a single driver ticket.

This activity is not recommended for pregnant women, individuals with fragile musculoskeletal systems, or those with certain health conditions.

Please note that the duration and itinerary of the activity are weather-dependent. If there is a cancellation due to the weather, your instructor will try to reschedule the activity, or, if this is not a feasible option for you, give you a full refund.

Your instructor offers free transportation service to and from the activity meeting point. You can be picked up from Ylläsjärvi, or, for bigger groups and on request, in Äkäslompolo. Please contact your instructor once the activity is confirmed to arrange a pickup time and location.

If you wish to arrive at the meeting on your own, you may do so in your own car, by skibus, or on foot. You can park at the North Wind Lapland office.
