Practical information
Course of events
- Welcome at the Océana diving centre in the port of Arcachon
- Wetsuit fitting at the centre
- Boarding of the boat with briefing on the activity and safety instructions
- Sailing to the dive site at Cap Ferret
- Completion of equipment and launch one by one (1 diver for 1 instructor)
- Immersion for around 20 minutes, to a maximum depth of 6 metres
- Return aboard the boat and enjoy a swim while waiting for the other participants to complete their first dive
- Once all the participants have completed their first dive, we sail back to the centre in Arcachon
- Disembark, remove your equipment (shower facilities available on site) and receive your first dive certificate to complete the activity
Activity requirements
You don't need to be a good swimmer to take part in this activity.
Written parental authorisation is required for minors to participate in this activity.
You must not have any medical contraindications to take part in this activity.

This activity is not accessible to pregnant people and disabled people.

A must-see seaside destination near Bordeaux, the Arcachon Basin is renowned for its exceptional environment: the Dune du Pilat, the Banc d'Arguin, Cap Ferret, etc. And even underwater, it is home to an incredible wealth of flora and fauna that would be a shame to miss! So get ready and don a wetsuit for your first dive in Arcachon, an underwater adventure that will not only introduce you to a new world, but also give you a unique thrill.
From the port of Arcachon, you will sail by boat to Cap Ferret, crossing the Arcachon Basin while taking in the surrounding scenery, including the famous Dune du Pilat. You will reach a dive site that is perfect for a first dive, with plenty of fish and ideal conditions for your activity. You will get into the water alongside a dedicated instructor who will accompany you for around 20 minutes underwater, to a depth of 6 metres. You can then enjoy your first dive in Arcachon in complete safety!
Accessible from the age of 8, even if you are not a good swimmer, this first dive in Arcachon will leave you with superb memories of the underwater world, and might even make you want to dive again as soon as possible!
