- A first certification, recognised abroad, in 4 diving sessions.
- This diploma allows you to dive to a depth of 12 m, under the supervision of an instructor.
- A well-equipped centre with changing rooms, showers, car park and beachside esplanade.
Course of events
Day 1:
- meet at 9.00am, end of session 11.30am/12.00pm (depending on numbers) - meet at 2.15pm, end of session 4.30pm/17.00pm
Departure from the beach to work on the exercises
Day 2:
- meet at 7.30am, end of session 10.00am
- meet at 4.30pm, end of session 7.30pm
Departure by boat to dive sites at suitable depths (12 metres maximum).
The theory is in the form of a small booklet to be studied with MCQs on the second day of training.
Objectives
- Diving techniques: control of equipment, breathing, buoyancy, descent and ascent to 12 m.
- Safety: prevention and management of incidents, assistance to divers in difficulty, compliance with protocols.
- Teaching and supervision: guiding beginners, teaching the basics, observing and assessing divers.
- Organisation: planning outings, managing groups and complying with diving rules.
Activity requirements
You need to be able to swim to take part in this activity.
You must not have any medical contraindications to taking part in this activity.
Parental authorisation is required for minors taking part in the activity.
Special terms
Pregnant women are not allowed to take part.
Training only takes place on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

The PE12 course (Préparateur à l’Encadrement 12 mètres) is a French scuba diving certification designed to train divers to dive up to 12 metres under the supervision of an instructor. Spread over two days, this introductory diving course at Cap Cerbère combines learning diving techniques, safety procedures, teaching skills, and excursion organisation—all within the exceptional setting of the Cerbère-Banyuls National Nature Reserve.
The Cap Cerbère dive centre provides ideal conditions for your training. Fully equipped with changing rooms, showers, parking, and a seafront terrace, the centre has all the facilities needed to ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience. The entire team is certified and experienced, ready to guide you and support your progress.
Over the course of the programme, you’ll enjoy four dives, all taking place close to the centre within the protected waters of the Cerbère-Banyuls reserve. In summer, the water can reach 23°C and is home to a rich variety of fish, including sea bream, mullets, groupers, and more—offering an unforgettable underwater spectacle.
