Looking for a thrill in the outdoors? Try mini rafting or rafting on the Arve from Passy, near Chamonix!
Rafting is a fun activity that can be enjoyed with family or friends in groups of 3 to 8 people, guided by a professional instructor. All together, you will have to navigate the rapids of the river with the help of your paddles. For smaller groups, you have the possibility to live the same experience in a mini raft, a more manoeuvrable boat than the raft that can accommodate up to 4 people.
Our partner Session Raft offers you the opportunity to go down the Arve in either of these boats, depending on your preference. The first white water sports base in the Mont-Blanc region, the base has been specialised in white water sports since 1982. Supervised by one of their professional guides, you will be in good hands to enjoy a fun time with your group!
Your rafting or mini rafting trip down the Arve will start in Passy. First, you will be equipped with the necessary equipment and safety instructions will be presented to you. You will then have the opportunity to experience 8 km of gliding between Passy and Sallanches, where the river is class 2, i.e. of an easy level. Ideal for a discovery of the activity, this rafting or mini rafting trip down the Arve will take you through 6 medium level rapids, with large water movements. For about 1 hour, you will go on the assault of the Arve rapids!
Only 30 minutes from Chamonix-Mont-Blanc by car, Passy is the ideal place to go rafting in Haute-Savoie. Indeed, the Arve is located only 800 meters from our partner's base. This torrential river of the Alps has its source in the Mont-Blanc massif and is the main river of Haute-Savoie. Your journey will take you between the Aravis Range, Tête à l'Âne and Mont-Blanc. In this mountainous and wild setting, you will enjoy magnificent views that you will not forget!
