The Ocean Beach surf school is ideally located on the Basque coast, in Hendaye, a paradise for surfers and all surfing aficionados! Just a stone's throw from the beach and with your feet in the water, Ocean Beach offers quality courses, both for beginners who wish to discover this discipline, and for those who wish to perfect their skills. You will evolve in an idyllic setting and in optimal safety conditions!
Open all year round, the school offers you courses, but also 3 and 5-day surfing courses, to make the most progress possible!
Ocean Beach welcomes you in its fully equipped premises, with men's and women's changing rooms, equipped with 8 showers accessible to people with reduced mobility. Lockers are also available to safely store your belongings during the course.
The spot:
The beach of Hendaye is 3.5km long and is the perfect playground for beginners and advanced players. The waves are rarely too big. The very flat beach allows you to surf in almost all conditions in complete safety. The best waves are in the middle of the bay, towards the Casino. When the waves are big, surfers tend to surf on the sides of the bay. It is also a fallback spot when the swells are too big on the other spots.
Equipment:
Ocean Beach has a wide choice of boards and wetsuits for rent. Foam boards and epoxy performance boards.
The program:
- The team welcomes you in a family and friendly atmosphere.
- Once the presentations have been made, it's time for the equipment: a combination adapted to the season. After a short chat about your surfing experience, you will choose a surfboard adapted to your level and the conditions of the day.
- Then you will head to the beach where you will analyze the weather conditions together. Warm-up before starting the lesson.
- After listening to the collective instructions, your instructor will accompany you in the water.
- Your instructor will then give you individual instructions, after assessing your level and your objectives.
- At the end of the course, each student has the right to an individual assessment.
- Back at school, you are free to take a shower if you wish.
