Built in 1627, it protected the port of Socoa and the bay of Saint-Jean-de-Luz. On the opposite side of the bay, you will find the Pointe de Sainte-Barbe, a hill overlooking Saint-Jean-de-Luz and offering a breathtaking view of the bay.
