Practical information
A 5-km hydrospeed course on the Guisane River between Les Guibertes and Chantemerle (approx. 1 hour and 15 minutes swimming).
- Classic experience for families with children aged 10 and over
- Course punctuated by dynamic class II to III rapids (easy to intermediate level), playful waves and calm stretches
- Immerse yourself in a superb Alpine setting while discovering new sensations
Course of events
Please allow up to 2.5 hours for the whole experience.
- Welcome at the Rafting Expérience base in La Salle-les-Alpes (free parking and public toilets available on site)
- Equipment of the wetsuits (collective changing area under a tent) and all the equipment needed for the activity
- Briefing on the activity, swimming with floats and fins, and safety instructions
- Transfer by minibus to the start of the descent at Les Guibertes (approx. 5 to 10 minutes)
- Complete briefing with equipment check
- Launching
- Departure for 1 hour and 15 minutes of hydrospeed on the Guisane River, on a 5-km course punctuated by dynamic rapids (class II to III), playful waves and calm stretches
- On arrival at Chantemerle, minibus transfer back to the base (approx. 10 minutes)
- Back at the base, equipment cleaning and de-equipment in the changing rooms to end the activity
Activity requirements
All participants must know how to swim (at least 25 metres) and immerse themselves to take part in this activity.
Maximum weight per person: 165 lbs / 75 kg
All minors must be accompanied by an adult who will sign the necessary documents for them before the start of the activity. This accompanying adult does not need to take part in the activity.

Both refreshing and exhilarating, hydrospeed on the Guisane River is not to be missed if you are looking for a white-water adventure in Serre Chevalier. The concept? Using fins and an inflatable float, you will swim along the river, going with the current and riding class II to III rapids (easy to intermediate level). It is hard to beat if you love water sports that combine thrills with the great outdoors! So if you can swim and are aged 10 or over, don't wait any longer and join the Rafting Expérience team in La Salle-les-Alpes, the starting point for this fantastic white-water adventure, just a 15-minute drive from Briançon.
You will be welcomed by your state-certified instructor, who will make sure you are comfortable and safe throughout the experience. They will walk you through the basics of the sport and provide all the equipment you need (inflatable float, helmet, fins, etc.), including a wetsuit to keep you warm in water temperatures of around 8°C. Then you will set off for around 1 hour and 15 minutes of hydrospeed down the Guisane River, covering 5 km between Les Guibertes and Chantemerle in Serre Chevalier! In a small group, you will make the most of the activity thanks to the river's accessible rapids and its 5 km stretch, which strikes the perfect balance between adrenaline and quieter moments to take in the surrounding scenery.
