Practical information
Experience your first dive in the crystal clear waters of Raiatea!
- Dive up to a maximum depth of 6 meters.
- Outing supervised by a professional guide (2 beginner participants per guide).
Course of events
- Meeting with the instructor at the Hémisphère Sub diving centre and administrative formalities (parking is available at the marina with free parking spaces)
- Fitting of equipment at the centre and boarding of the boat
- Sail for 5 to 20 minutes to the dive site with a briefing on the activity and safety instructions
- Launch with the instructor for around 35-40 minutes to a maximum depth of 6 metres
- Return to the boat, sail back to the centre, rinse off and end of the activity
Activity requirements
All participants must know how to swim to take part in this activity.
A minimum of 2 participants is required for the activity to take place.
You must not have any medical contraindications to take part in this activity, such as asthma.

As a first experience of scuba diving, the first dive deserves to be done in a memorable place that makes you want to dive again. And in French Polynesia, the lagoon of Raiatea and Taha'a is a highly recommended spot! With its coral gardens, its motus and its passes, the lagoon of Raiatea and Taha'a offers several sites allowing you to make your first dive in an environment with an impressive variety of fauna and flora.
You will be underwater for about 35-40 minutes at a maximum depth of 6 meters with a certified diving instructor. You will learn the basics of scuba diving, including the signs of underwater communication, and discover the sensations provided by your underwater evolution in complete safety. Your path will cross that of multicolored coral fish, but also maybe that of turtles!
