Discover scuba diving in Antiparos

When you take the Discover Scuba Diving course, you experience both excitement and adventure as well as a feeling of freedom and serenity. Nothing compares to the “weightless” exhilaration of breathing underwater. Discover Scuba Diving is designed for everyone who is thrilled about marine life and underwater activities. It is quite easy and safe.

During the boat ride, you will enjoy the island’s landscapes and as soon as you arrive at the dive spot you will be briefed about the dive by the instructors.

You will begin diving in very shallow water and practice for a while before you start diving underwater. The dive will be at a maximum depth of 12 metres for 30 minutes.

Some of the spots to dive:

Tourna - This small Island has the added attraction of the church of St Nicholas, The Patron Saint of Antiparos, built upon it. The dive itself starts over a nice sheltered lagoon where you will drop into very shallow water and you will be able to get the buoyancy and kit together before descending down to a maximum depth of 12 metres. This site is frequented very regularly by large schools of Amber Jacks as well as Barracuda. On regular dives, you can find octopus, moray eels and scorpion fish.

Red Rock - a large piece of volcanic rock jutting out of the sea just a 10-minute boat ride from the Dive Centre. The formation has a reddish colour to it, hence its name. The bottom of the main base is 12 metres. With plenty of nooks and crannies and a swim-through along the way, you are guaranteed at least a couple of Morays hiding in their holes.

St. Spiridhon - Built on the top of a rock, the church dedicated to St Spiridhon commands amazing views of the North of Antiparos and across to Parikia, Paros. There is always time to climb up there during. Mooring up in a sheltered bay just 5 metres deep you will enter the water and move along the bottom looking for Octopus and Morays. You will swim past a small cavern where a growing number of Groupers have taken up residence.
