The majority of Martinique's canyons, including the Mitan River, are found in the northern part of the island, within the Pitons du Carbet mountain range. This is the only mountainous region on the island, with a tropical rainforest worthy of the Caribbean. Whether or not you've ever set foot in a tropical jungle, you absolutely must come and discover Martinique's!

You will discover the commune of Morne-Vert, where beginners and experts in canyoning will find plenty of fun.

This canyon has 8 main obstacles: 4 of them can be bypassed by climbing, with the help of ropes, while for the other 4, you will have to jump or slide. This canyon offers many possibilities of descents in a beautiful and wild environment within the tropical jungle. By the way, remember to look around you when you reach the canyon: as you cross the Martinique forest, you may well spot the endemic tarantula of northern Martinique, the matoutou cliff!

This canyon in Morne-Vert is one of the school's favourites, and the neighbouring commune is well worth a visit!

Super activité ! Très dynamique on a l'occasion de traverser la rivière de différentes manière. Bous avons eu l'occasion de découvrir quelques plantes local, de rencontrer les mygales sur notre route (spectaculaire) et déguster différents fruits succulent ! A faire absolument !

Ma famille a beaucoup apprécié cette activité (c’était la première fois que l’un d’entre nous faisait le canyoning) – la combinaison des randonnées dans la forêt, sauter, rappel, glisser entre les rochers, zip line, etc. a été très intéressant. Je suggère juste augmenter la description de cette activité pour comprendre des instructions logistiques pour mettre plus à l’aise les débutants de canyoning : le type de chaussures approprié (c’est écrit « chaussons de marche étanches » mais je pense en réalité vous pouvez juste écrire « chaussures de sport à bout fermé qui ne craignent pas de se mouiller »), combien de bouteilles d’eau et de snacks (et de quelle taille) chaque personne peut apporter (selon les bidons/sacs étanches disponibles), les détails concernant où et quand on doit mettre et enlever les néoprènes, et comment on va gérer le parking et le ramassage des voitures personnelles avant et après la conclusion de l’activité.
