Practical information
A 20-minute first dive in Les Trois-Îlets, to a maximum depth of 6 metres, preceded or followed by a 30-minute guided snorkelling session.
- Personalised supervision with 1 instructor for 1 diver for the first dive, and 1 instructor for 4 snorkellers
- A wide variety of first-time diving sites (around 20), rich in underwater flora and fauna: coral fish, turtles, coral, sponges, etc.
- Experience an eco-responsible, educational approach that focuses on how you feel
Course of events
Please allow around 3 hours for the whole experience.
- Welcome at the Espace Plongée Martinique diving centre in Les Trois-Îlets, 15 minutes before the start of the activity (free parking close to the centre, also accessible by sea shuttle from Fort-de-France)
- Administrative formalities, with the option of leaving your personal belongings in a secure place at the centre
- Wetsuit equipment in the changing rooms
- Boarding the boat in the marina, in front of the diving centre
- Sailing to the dive site (approx. 20-30 minutes) with a briefing on the diving experience and safety instructions
- Launch on your own with your instructor from the boat's rear platform and finalise your equipment on the water's surface, with time to adapt
- Immersion for around 20 minutes, to a maximum depth of 6 metres
- Back on the surface, de-equipping in the water, then return on board the boat
- After a short break, launch again for 30 minutes of snorkelling with 1 instructor for every 4 snorkellers (you can also snorkel independently if you prefer)
- Sailing back to Les Trois-Îlets marina (around 20 to 30 minutes) with a debriefing of the adventure over a friendly drink (house cocktail such as planteur, fresh water or syrup)
- Back at the centre, reception of your first dive certificate and the opportunity to shower and use the toilet to finish the activity
Activity requirements
You don't need to be able to swim to take part in this activity.
All minors must be accompanied by an adult on board the boat.
You must not have any medical contraindications to taking part in this activity (heart or breathing problems, asthma, epilepsy, etc.). If you have any questions, please consult your doctor.
Please arrive 15 minutes before the start of the activity.

This activity is not accessible to pregnant people.
This activity is open to people with disabilities, but it is best to ask your doctor's advice before booking.
Pets are not permitted to join in this activity.
Accompanying people not taking part in the first scuba diving experience, but doing the snorkelling, can book as 'passengers'. Accompanying people not taking part in the first dive and the snorkelling will have to pay €35 on the spot to get on the boat, provided there is room on the boat.
It is perfectly possible to take part in the activity wearing contact lenses.

Ideal for those wishing to discover the beauty of the Caribbean Sea's underwater world in Martinique, this combined scuba diving introduction and snorkelling experience in Les Trois-Îlets is open to everyone from the age of 8, even if you cannot swim. Not only will you have the chance to admire the richness of the local turquoise waters (turtles, reef fish, sponges, corals, etc.), but you will also experience the unique sensations of a full scuba immersion (weightlessness, silence, breathing through a regulator, and more). You will enter the water in ideal conditions, at a calm site where the temperature averages 28°C year-round and the visibility is perfect for observing the marine life below. And all this just 20 to 30 minutes’ navigation from the marina of Pointe du Bout!
Alongside a qualified DEJEPS instructor who will remain by your side throughout the experience, you will enjoy a 20-minute first dive at a maximum depth of 6 metres, as well as a 30-minute snorkelling session, guided or unguided depending on your preference and comfort in the water. You will be fully equipped with AQUALUNG gear, serviced and renewed by a third every year to ensure optimal safety, and will cruise aboard one of the centre’s 2 boats (a catamaran and a monohull), both designed to offer maximum comfort for the activity (aft platform for safe entry into the water, bimini for shade, deck showers for rinsing equipment, etc.). You can be confident that your first dive and snorkelling experience in Les Trois-Îlets will unfold in the best possible way with Espace Plongée Martinique!
Finally, as well as discovering a marvellous underwater world, your outing will allow you to enjoy a beautiful boat trip along the southwest coast of Martinique. Anse Dufour, Anse Noire, Grande Anse d’Arlet beach, … you will sail past breathtaking scenery that will make your experience all the more unforgettable!
