Discover the iconic Our Lady of the Rocks Island and the ancient city of Perast on a boat tour in Kotor Bay. Welcoming adventurers from ages 1 and up!

The Bay of Kotor, also known as Boka Bay, is an amazing bay situated in Montenegro. This winding bay is surrounded by steep mountains, offering mesmerising panoramic views. Several coastal towns dot the shores of Kotor Bay, with natural beauty, lush greenery and historical landmarks. On this tour, you’ll visit the town of Perast.

To begin the tour, you’ll meet the experienced skipper at the starting point in Kotor and board the comfortable boat. After a quick safety briefing, you’ll set sail across the Bay of Kotor towards Perast. The first stop on the tour is at Our Lady of the Rocks, a man-made island located just in front of Perast. According to legend, the islet was made over centuries by local seamen after finding the icon of the Virgin Mary and the Child on the rock in the sea. Over time, the islet gradually emerged from the sea. Now, Our Lady of the Rocks is the protector of all seamen who come to Boka Bay.

The main landmark on the islet is a 17th-century catholic church. The church is dedicated to the Virgin Mary and is renowned for its beautiful interior adorned with paintings and frescoes by famous Baroque artists. You’ll visit the church and the island’s small museum. After exploring Our Lady of the Rocks, you’ll head to the old town of Perast. This ancient city is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, home to Baroque architecture, historic palazzos, and defensive towers.

The town is nestled at the base of Mount St. Elijah and offers magnificent views of the Bay of Kotor and surrounding mountains. You’ll enjoy a walk through the picturesque old town and stop for an optional meal at one of the local restaurants. In the town centre, you’ll find the famous Church of St. Nicholas, a Baroque-style church with a distinctive bell tower. After exploring this unique town, you’ll travel on the boat back to the starting point in Kotor.
