Experience the thrill of driving your own team of energetic huskies on this 4-hour, self-drive, dog sledding tour from Tromsø, photos included! All levels of experience are welcome.
Dog sledding provides an opportunity to connect with nature, experience an adrenaline rush like no other, and appreciate the beauty of Norway's wild and snowy landscapes while working in harmony with a team of enthusiastic huskies. An adventure that's both exhilarating and serene, makes it an unforgettable excursion!
For your convenience, participants can choose between morning and afternoon departure times from Tromsø. Your fun-filled tour begins after being picked up at the meeting point, you'll sit back, relax, and take in the magnificent scenery on the 50-minute drive to the camp in Breivikeidet. Upon arrival, you and your group (a maximum of 16 people) will be welcomed by the friendly and knowledgeable team and receive your winter gear including thermal overalls, boots, mittens, and a hat. Then, you will be provided with a safety briefing as well as an introduction to dog sledding and basic dog sledding techniques.
Once you've met the adorable huskies, the fun starts! Two people share one dog sled, one person as the driver and the other as the passenger, for approximately 1 km (0.6 miles). Your guide will take photos of you driving, immortalizing the moment. Then, you and your passenger will trade places and they will drive the husky team, also stopping for photos.
When you've returned to the camp, you'll say goodbye to your furry friends, cuddles are welcome and encouraged! Then, it's time for a well-deserved break of warm drinks and a delicious piece of cake. After changing into your regular clothes, you'll head back to Tromsø, satisfied with a day well-spent in Norway's winter wonderland.
