About the activity

Combine an all-in-one package for a fulsome day in the winter wonderland of Northern Norway, situated north of the Arctic Circle, on this amazing Self-Drive Dog Sledding, Snowmobiling and Northern Lights from Tromsø! Set among high mountains and a snow-covered valley, Camp Tamok is an amazing wilderness camp where you can enjoy diverse winter activities like dog sledding, snowmobiling, Northern Lights chases, and more.

Your adventure begins with a pick-up from the city centre in Tromsø, where you will embark on a 90-minute scenic ride to Camp Tamok, admiring the mesmerising landscapes and white-washed mountains of the Arctic. Upon arrival, you will receive warm winter overalls, hats, mittens, and boots, and follow a safety briefing and a mushing (dog sledding) demonstration with special techniques. Once you're set, you will head out to meet the huskies who will take you on an unforgettable journey into the Arctic wilderness. Each sled will be shared between two participants, with the opportunity to swap drivers during the experience.

The dogs are well-trained and love to run, but as teamwork is essential, there will be parts of the trip where you will have to help and push the sled together with your pack. You will have the opportunity to switch drivers with your team if you wish. After the tour, you'll relax by the roaring fire, and enjoy a delicious and locally produced warm meal.

Once you've recharged, your guide will share some fascinating stories about the region and give you a safety briefing for your next adventure, your snowmobile ride! Then, it is time to head out and set off for an unforgettable snowmobile safari in the Arctic wilderness!

You will ride through the breathtaking snow-covered mountains, along dramatic landscapes, and scenic valleys! Each snowmobile will be shared between two participants, one driver and one passenger, with the opportunity to switch places during the trip. The overall duration of the snowmobile safari depends on the weather and snow conditions of the day. If you are lucky, the phenomenal Northern Lights will appear right above you as you traverse the Arctic trails on your snowmobile.

Experience 3 diverse and fun activities in a day, all in the Northern Norwegian wilderness and surrounded by the stunning Arctic landscapes. Book your Self-Drive Dog Sledding, Snowmobiling and Northern Lights from Tromsø today!

Professional guides, equipment in superb conditions, the provided clothing was excellent and very clean, good food in cosy cabin; the ice dome very amazing, enough time to stroll along and look into each room; a bit disappointing were the reindeer since was a very small group of only 4-6 animals

This was an excellent experience for a first-time snowmobiler. The guide was very clear with the operation instructions and was very attentive to the group out on the trail. We stopped at a nice spot to take pictures. Back at the camp, we had a nice lunch and hot beverages in a lavuu. The ice domes are amazing, such detailed carvings. The movie, which is about the construction of the domes, was very interesting.

The whole day was amazing, the snowmobiling was the highlight of course, really great instructor and the views as you went along was like being in Narnia. We were on the snowmobiles for about an hour which was a good amount of time. A lovely spot half way round to stop and rest and take in the views too. Lunch in the cabin was very cosy. The snow domes are well worth a visit, a huge amount of effort goes into making this! The reindeer part was slightly underwhelming as most are out doing the sledging, you literally see a handful of babies for 5 minutes or so. But still, nice to see them. My only gripe was having to pay adult prices for my two children as they didn’t get to drive the snowmobiles as they are under 18. There should be a cheaper price for under 18s as they are only passengers, not drivers but have to pay the same price.
