Activity description

Experience one of nature's most mesmerising phenomenon, the Northern Lights dancing right above you in the starry Arctic sky in Camp Tamok from Tromsø. Welcoming adventurers of ages 4 and above!

Situated just a few miles north of the Arctic Circle and right in the centre of the Northern Lights oval, Tromsø is one of the best spots to witness one of the most magical Aurora shows dancing right above you! Camp Tamok is an isolated camp, based outside of Tromsø offering fantastic views, and the best stable weather conditions to observe the mystical Northern Lights!

Your adventure begins in Tromsø where you will meet your guides and embark on a 90-minute scenic ride to Camp Tamok. Take in the breathtaking sceneries along the way, as your guides take you at the camp, situated in the unspoiled wilderness, near the mountains bordering Norway, Finland, and Sweden.

Upon arrival, you will receive warm winter clothing to keep you cosy during the evening, and watch an interesting presentation about the Aurora Borealis followed by some insider tips and tricks of capturing the best pictures! Depending on the weather conditions and the forecast, your guides will take you to different spots around the camp to catch the Auroras dancing right above you.

Once you've dazzled by the dancing lights of the Arctic, you will head back to camp to warm up by the roaring fire in a reindeer herder's tent, and enjoy a delicious and locally produced warm meal. Taste the local flavors and sit around the red flames as you gaze in awe at the green flames right above you!

Once you've warmed up, it is time to board the bus and marvel one last time, at the breathtaking scenery as you make your way back to Tromsø. Book your Northern Lights Observation at Camp Tamok for a perfect evening of star-gazing and wonders.

I loved the activity. Definitely recommend it to people. Even though there was a lot of snow and the sky wasn't clear enough for the lights, we got lucky and still managed to see the auroras. It was truly beautiful.

Vraiment une belle activité. Agréablement surpris. Le camp est très beau même de nuit. La nourriture est faite par un restaurant local et est excellente. Partage de la culture Sami et respect des animaux.
