Activity description

Embark on an evening ice floating session in Tromsø. Float peacefully in the water while admiring the magical colours of the Northern Lights lighting up the Arctic night sky! Discover the incredible sensation of ice floating in Norway, a truly relaxing and immersive Arctic experience in Tromsø. 

If you're looking for a unique experience during your stay in Tromsø, search no further. Northern Norway boasts some incredible fjords with breathtaking views, and Arctic ice floating is one of the best ways to fully immerse yourself in the Nordic wilderness.

Situated just 25 minutes away from Tromsø, the Arctic Survival Camp is surrounded by the North Norwegian nature, and overlooking the beautiful Ramfjord. Your adventure begins with a scenic drive towards the camp from Tromsø, where you and your group (a maximum of 10 people) will meet your instructors and follow a safety briefing. After putting on your survival suit, which is designed to keep you warm and safe at all times, the adventure begins! You'll head out towards the icy waters and take the plunge! 

Let the frozen fjord take you on an unforgettable journey. At night, you will experience complete serenity as you lie back and float in the city waters. Surrounded by nature, you'll breathe in the pure air and feel your mind and body relax. Your guide will be with you during the session, ensuring your safety at all times. With a little bit of luck, the captivating Aurora Borealis will make their appearance and dance right above you. Take in this magical show while peacefully floating in the Nordic fjords!

After the ice floating session, you will head back to the camp, to a roaring fire, where you'll be treated to warm beverages, accompanied by local treats. Then, it is time to hop on the minibus and head back to Tromsø, ending the day with a scenic ride, crossing an Arctic ice floating experience off your bucket list and leaving the camp with lifelong memories!

Please be advised that this activity is not suitable for small children, the minimum height for floating is 140 cm (4'5").

Special terms

* Please be advised that the Northern Lights are a natural phenomenon and their appearance is not guaranteed. This session is not focused on chasing the Auroras but offers great chances of seeing them right above you.

* The suits are designed for the arctic waters to keep you dry, warm and above all, safe! We highly advise you to wear warm thermal layers under the suit as well. 

* Each guest is instructed well before stepping into the water. No swimming skills are required, as the suit will keep you on the surface.
