Guided adventure dives in Peniche, Portugal

Explore the wild underwater landscapes of the Berlengas Nature Reserve on this full-day diving trip from Peniche, guided by a certified instructor. Known for its rich biodiversity and dramatic granite cliffs, Berlengas offers some of the best dive spots in Portugal - ideal for certified divers looking for a unique Atlantic experience.

This excursion includes two boat dives in different sites chosen based on your certification level, sea conditions, and logistics. Sites may include Primavera Wreck, Recife dos Galos, Flandres, Baía do Forte, or Cova do Sono, with varied marine terrain: reefs, sandy or rocky bottoms, algae-covered slopes, small caves, and excellent biodiversity. You may encounter nudibranchs, octopus, seabreams, cowbreams, scorpionfish, fork-beards, and more. Visibility usually ranges from 10 to 15 meters, and water temperatures average 16–17°C.

Board one of the school’s two semi-rigid dive boats, designed for maximum comfort and efficiency in Portuguese waters. The 12-meter Searibs, equipped with two Yamaha 350 horsepower motors, is considered the best dive boat in Portugal, ensuring speed and stability. The 8.6-meter Searibs, featuring a Yamaha 300 horsepower motor, has been fully customized and adapted specifically for diving in these waters, offering an excellent balance of maneuverability and performance.

This short boat cruise to the island will take 30 to 40 minutes. Each dive is preceded by a detailed site briefing. Between dives, enjoy a relaxing surface interval on the boat with water, bananas and a Pastel de Nata (feel free to bring extra snacks). After the dive, enjoy hot showers, towels, and shower gel back at the dive center.

Open Water Diver certification is required to join this tour. If you haven’t dived in over a year or lack recent experience, a refresher course (PADI Reactivate) is strongly recommended.

If you bring your own gear, air tanks (12L) and weights are included.
If you choose full rental, all equipment is provided: wetsuit (7mm), boots, hood, fins, mask, snorkel, regulator, BCD and all safety essentials.
