Canyoning in the Río Cosco in Xixona, near Alicante

The Río Cosco is a real hidden gem in the province of Alicante, offering an unexpected aquatic setting in the heart of the arid landscapes of the Xixona region. The adventure begins with short abseils of 5 and 6 metres, perfect for getting to grips with abseiling techniques, before moving on to steeper sections of 7 and 5 metres, and culminating in a grand finale with the final 15-metre abseil. You will be kitted out with state-of-the-art technical equipment, including a Petzl helmet, a Climax harness and a 5-millimetre-thick neoprene wetsuit for optimum thermal comfort. You don’t actually need to know how to swim to take on the Río Cosco Canyon, as the thickness of the neoprene wetsuit ensures you have plenty of buoyancy in the cool water pools! A certified instructor will also be on hand to ensure your safety throughout the course, supervising a maximum of 8 participants to ensure you enjoy a high-quality experience.
