Practical information
- Meet the instructor
- Transfer by car to the Peonera Canyon parking area.
- Begin a 50-minute approach hike along the "Senda de la Faja de los Caracoles" trail.
- Arrival at the river, short break to drink water and have a snack. Safety briefing before entering the canyon.
- Start of the descent through the first section of the canyon, the Estrechos de los Fornazos, the most technical part with narrow passages, siphons, drops, and flooded caves.
- Reach Fuente de Tamara, where the canyon opens up – a good spot for a lunch break.
- Begin the second section of the canyon, the Estrechos del Puntillo, featuring a series of jumps (the highest is 12 meters – all jumps are optional).
- Continue with a 25-minute river walk through an open section, where water levels vary from ankle to knee height.
- Arrival at El Salto de Bierge, a dam with an impressive waterfall.
- Change out of your wetsuit and return to the Peonera parking area by car with your instructor.
All participants must be able to swim.
Participants must be fit enough to be able to walk a distance of 4.5 km.
They must not be afraid of heights.

Minors must have parental permission.

Canyoning in the Peonera canyon is the most fun experience you will find in the Sierra de Guara, as this place is like a water park.
Canyoning in the Peonera canyon will take you to jump into emerald pools of water, natural slides, incredible crevices and flooded caves. Crystal clear water and sunshine will accompany you at all times. After 4 hours you will make the famous Bierge Dam waterfall which will be the icing on the cake where you will make an impressive jump at the end of the excursion.
The lower canyon of the Peonera has two parts: the Fornazos and Puntillos canyons, between them the canyon opens up and you will take a break for lunch. You will lie down next to the Tamara springs, where the warm sun will open the way to the Peonera canyon.
