You should plan to spend around 3.5 hours on this activity:

- Break at a traditional cotton tipi with a fire burning and a hot drink

Activity requirements
Being in good physical condition is required to take part in this activity. You need to be able to walk on the snow, in changing terrain, and on uneven ground.
All minors must be accompanied by an adult.

Partnering with a husky is optional. You can sign up for the hike and not be connected to a dog if you don't wish to be.

Abisko Hikes has a kennel with over 60 well-loved dogs, all with their own personality and strengths, which your instructor will study to pair you with the ideal husky for you. Then, they'll help you set up the equipment for the hike, and once you're all set up, it's time to go!
You'll spend around 2 hours hiking, but along the way, you'll get to stop to observe the sky and search for the Northern Lights that might appear there. Midway through the experience, you will stop at a traditional Sámi tipi, which will have an open fire where you can warm up and enjoy a delicious hot drink while you keep searching for the Aurora Borealis. You'll also hike over to a beautiful viewpoint to observe what you can of the Lappish nature, but especially, to observe the Northern Lights and take incredible pictures. And if the snow is very deep, you might even have to use snowshoes to reach this point!
All you need to do is bring comfortable, thermal underlayers, good waterproof walking shoes, a bottle of water, some snacks, a hat, a scarf, your camera, and a tripod if you have it to take the best pictures of the night sky, as well as anything else you might need (medication, sunglasses, etc.) to spend around 3 hours on this amazing Northern Lights husky hike in Abisko!
