Samos: What to do when you get there ?

Samos is a Greek island in the eastern Aegean Sea at the south of Chios island. It is home to Pythagoreion and the Heraion of Samos, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that includes the Eupalinian aqueduct, a marvel of ancient engineering.

Samos is a beautiful island with high mountains, luxurious vegetation and a historical archeological site. The climate is typically mediterranean with mild temperatures all year long. You can get to the island through the international airport or get on the ferry boats that departs from the port of Pireaus in Athens.

It is a popular location among the cyclists, walkers and climbers due in fact to the extensive trails leading high into the green mountains. The landscape is full of traditional Greek towns waiting to be explore. The island brims with great spots for you to enjoy stunning views and beautiful sunset. Kokkari is a fairly developed town, although there are shops, café, bars and restaurants around the streets the town has managed to preserve its rustic charm

Jeep safari is also a great way to explore the island steeped in history. There is a very efficient bus service that goes around Samos for those who would rather not drive. If you like to go on another adventure the ferry boats departs every day from the port of Vathi and cruise around the neighbouring islands as well as Turkey which is a short distance away from Samos.
