Nestled between the emerald slopes of the Ligurian Apennines and the sparkling waters of the Italian Riviera, Portofino is a destination where the allure of the sea is ever-present. Embarking on a boat tour here means entering a world where pastel-coloured houses line the iconic harbour, olive groves scent the breeze, and the rhythm of waves sets the pace for discovery. The coastline, shaped by centuries of wind and water, reveals hidden coves, dramatic cliffs, and the protected beauty of the Portofino Marine Park. From the first glimpse of the promontory’s lush silhouette to the golden glow of sunset over the Gulf of Tigullio, every moment on the water is infused with the spirit of Liguria.

Exploring Portofino by boat offers a dynamic perspective on this celebrated stretch of coast. Most excursions trace routes from the sheltered bay of Santa Margherita Ligure, skirting the rugged headlands towards San Fruttuoso Abbey, a secluded jewel accessible only by sea or footpath. The journey unfolds at a gentle pace, with the boat gliding over clear, turquoise waters, the salt air mingling with the scent of pine and wild herbs from the shore. Depending on the itinerary, tours may pause for swimming in quiet inlets, snorkelling above rocky reefs, or simply drifting in the sun-dappled calm. The contrasts are striking: the lively chatter of harbourfront cafés gives way to the hush of remote beaches, while the play of light on the water shifts from silvery morning to the deep blues of late afternoon. Whether you seek relaxation or adventure, the experience is shaped by the ever-changing interplay of sea, sky, and land.

Giacomo took us on a boat tour fro Recco to Sanst Margherita. We made a stop in San Fruttuoso to snorkle, tourist the village and have cocktails and a snack at the beach. Then we went south to Santa Margherita and Portofino where we went into town for lunch and walked to Chiesa di San Georgio with amazing views of the port. We took the boat to Spiaggia dell Olivetta for more snorkling. 8 hrs of bliss.

Our guide was very nice and good. Kayaking was nice and he explained everything very well. Kayaking is quite intensive, snorkeling was "ok" where only masks where provided and no fins or breathing "tubes"

The activity was great, we wanted to do the kayaking tour but the weather didn't permit it so they suggested we did surfing instead. It was a great idea and went really well.

Da wir das erste Mal mit dem Kajak unterwegs waren, war es sehr anstrengend. Trotzdem hat es sehr viel Spass gemacht und wir würden es jederzeit wieder buchen.
