Torcal de Antequera is a natural park located in the municipalities of Antequera and Villanueva de la Concepcion, in the province of Malaga. This Natural Park is the most impressive karstic landscape in Europe and extends its rocky fantasy for over 12 square kilometres.
The formation of these spectacular mountains started millions of years ago when Europe and the Middle East were submerged under the Tethys Sea. Due to the accumulation and deposit of skeletons, shells and shells of marine animals, you can now find fossils imprinted in the walls of this summits.
The area includes four distinct areas: Sierra Pelada, Torcal Alto, Torcal Bajo, Tajos and Laderas. It includes also the Mirador de las Ventanillas, from where one can enjoy a breath-taking panoramic view of part of the province, and on clear days you can even see the African coast. The route called 'Ruta Verde "(Green Route) allows visitors to observe plant diversity, geological formations and wildlife.
Adrenaline hunters usually come to the park for trekking expeditions where you can see fossils. Discover the mountain biking tracks and via ferrata itineraries with views that appear from another world.
