Montpellier is a haven for all extreme sports lovers! The FISE, which is the biggest freestyle sports championship in Europe, takes place every year in the Lez riverside on the Ascension weekend. Famous athletes represent 5 different sports: Freestyle BMX, Freestyle Rollerblade, Mountain Bike Slopestyle, Skateboarding and Wakeboarding.
In Villeneuve-les -Maguelone, southern Montpellier, the beach of Prévost hosts the Festkite, an event made for all the kitesurfing aficionados. Discover this thrilling sport on the International Kitesurf Exhibition and during the International Kitefoil and Kitesurf Championships which gather riders from all around the world.
The city is located only 15 minutes from the Mediterranean Sea that you can reach by bike. You can practice numerous nautical sports such as sailing, sea kayaking and even scuba diving.
