Set adrift in the heart of the Cyclades, Milos is a destination where the Aegean’s turquoise waters meet a coastline sculpted by volcanic forces. Boat tours in Milos reveal a landscape shaped by time and nature, with white cliffs, hidden grottoes, and beaches accessible only by sea. The island’s southern shores, dotted with the iconic rock formations of Kleftiko and the lunar expanse of Sarakiniko, offer a visual spectacle that shifts with the sun’s angle and the clarity of the water. The gentle hum of the boat, the scent of salt and wild thyme on the breeze, and the interplay of light on the mineral-rich cliffs create an atmosphere both invigorating and serene. Exploring Milos by boat is not just about sightseeing; it is an immersion in the island’s elemental beauty and maritime heritage.

Embarking on a boat tour around Milos is a dynamic experience, blending moments of quiet observation with bursts of discovery. Typical routes trace the island’s dramatic southern coastline, passing beneath natural arches, into sea caves, and alongside remote beaches such as Tsigrado and Firiplaka. Many excursions last between three and seven hours, allowing time for swimming in crystalline coves, snorkelling above submerged rocks, or simply soaking up the warmth of the Mediterranean sun. The terrain alternates between smooth, sheltered bays and stretches of open water where the wind and waves add a sense of adventure. The contrasts are striking: the silence inside a cave, the laughter as you leap from the boat, the vivid blues and greens shifting beneath the hull. Whether you prefer a leisurely cruise or an active exploration, Milos offers a variety of boat excursions to suit every pace.

Due to high winds we had to start from the south side of the island and couldn't set the sails. However, the captain and crew more than made up for it with their friendliness. Sailed over to the Blue lagoon and swam, then back to another location for more swimming. Then off to the pirate caves to swim and finally to a nice beach on the northwest side of the island. All throughout the day we were well fed with a breakfast of fresh fruit and pastries. What I thought was lunch was a spread of breads topped with feta or another paste, pieces of bread upon which one could put anchovies, tomatoes and cucumbers and fava spread or another delicious spread. However, that was just a precursor as the then grilled chicken and served us a bountiful lunch of chicken, potatoes salad and a Greek style salad with bread. Finally a little later the served cups of yogurt with chocolate and a crumble topping. There was plenty of water, soft drinks and beer available. It was just a delightful day.
If you enjoy being on a catamaran and want to swim in incredible spots, this tour is for you! And the crew is really fantastic…authentic Greeks that meet you invite you in their home (their catamaran)
