A snorkelling excursion from Mindelo to discover two unspoilt sites on São Vicente (1 hour of snorkeling in each site supervised by the instructor from the boat).
- Enjoy top-of-the-range Aqualung and Tusa equipment supplied with 5mm to 7mm wetsuits for effortless floating.
- Experience safe, friendly supervision in small groups of no more than 6 participants per instructor.
- End the activity in style with exclusive access to the swimming pool and showers at the Oasis Porto Grande hotel.
Course of events
Please allow 5 hours for the whole experience.
- Arrive at the dive centre, sign the waiver and try on the snorkelling equipment including wetsuit, fins, mask and snorkel.
- Walk approximately 5 minutes to the boat moored in the marina.
- Attend a safety briefing on board before a 25 to 30 minute sail to the first site.
- Reach the first snorkelling spot and receive a briefing on the activity, including instructions for entering and exiting the water (15 minutes).
- Take part in a one-hour snorkelling session to explore the reef with supervision from your guide who will stay on the boat.
- Enjoy a 1.5-hour surface interval on board with water, bananas and biscuits provided.
- Make a short 5-minute boat transfer to the second site and enjoy another one-hour snorkelling session.
- Remove the equipment on board and sail back to the marina of Mindelo (approximately 30 minutes).
- Return to the dive centre and make use of the showers, changing rooms and hotel pool for up to 30 minutes, or longer if food or drinks are purchased at the hotel.
Activity requirements
You don't need to know how to swim, but you do need to be comfortable in the water to take part in this activity.
A written parental authorisation is required for minors to take part in this activity without being accompanied by an adult.
You will be asked to sign a liability waiver form before the activity begins.
A minimum of 4 participants is required for the activity to take place.
Special terms
Participants who wear glasses can bring their own mask adapted to their eyesight. Otherwise, please ask your optician if you wish to wear contact lenses during the activity.
Non-participating passengers are welcome on board for an additional fee of €40 per person, subject to availability. Places are allocated with priority given to snorkelling participants, and attendance is also dependent on suitable sea conditions, including low wind and wave levels.
This activity is not accessible to people with physical or mental disabilities due to the logistics of the boat and the specific constraints linked to underwater safety.
Pets are not allowed to take part in this activity.

The main town on the island of São Vicente in Cape Verde, Mindelo is ideally situated on the coastline and boasts a bay in the shape of an almost perfect half-arc — the remnant of an ancient partially submerged caldera.
