Located south-east of Bonifacio in Corse-du-Sud, the archipelago of the Lavezzi Islands is made up of 23 granite islands. Classified as a highly protected area within the Bouches de Bonifacio Nature Reserve, this exceptional site includes islands such as Lavezzu Island, Ratino Island and Piana Island. But the Lavezzi also hide a beautiful secret: Cavallo Island, a far less touristy island that is just as worth discovering. If you’d like to explore it and enjoy an itinerary off the beaten track, this sea kayaking trip to Cavallo Island is perfect for you.
Meet on Piantarella Beach, where the passionate and professional team at Bonif Kayak will welcome you and guide you on your discovery of the Lavezzi by sea kayak. Thanks to their expertise and knowledge of the area, no previous kayaking experience is required—simply follow their advice and enjoy your sea kayaking adventure from Piantarella.
Your excursion begins with a safety briefing and a short introduction to kayaking. Once ready, you’ll paddle through the small islands of the Lavezzi towards Cavallo Island, weaving between islets and granite boulders within the protected waters of the Bouches de Bonifacio Nature Reserve. As a specialist of the local environment, your guide will introduce you to the region’s flora and fauna along the way. You’ll also stop to observe marine life using mask and snorkel provided by your guide (optional). Upon reaching Cavallo Island, you’ll enjoy a picnic break on the white sand of Greco Beach before heading back to the starting point, passing by Ratino and Piana Islands.
Organised in small groups of up to 8 participants, this sea kayaking excursion to the Lavezzi Islands is designed to help you explore the region in an eco-friendly way while raising awareness of Corsica’s natural heritage. During the outing, you’ll access preserved sites unreachable on foot or by motorboat—a truly unique opportunity.
Book your sea kayaking excursion to Cavallo Island now and explore the Lavezzi Islands away from the crowds during your stay in Bonifacio!
