Now, as mentioned above, the Northern Lights are a natural phenomenon, so there is always a chance that you won't be able to find them, even if your instructor does their best to bring you to the most likely sighting spots. You can also rent a high-quality camera and tripod from your instructor, so you can take your own photos.

Keep in mind that temperatures in the Arctic can range from 5 to -30 degrees Celsius, so to prepare to go Northern Lights hunting from Ivalo, your instructor recommends bringing wool or thermal under layers, good middle layers, a winter jacket, and even waterproof pants that you can wear under the thermal suit if it's very cold.
