Activity requirements
Being in good physical condition and having snowmobile, jet ski, motorcycle, or ATV driving experience is required to take part in this activity.
Snowmobile drivers must have a valid driver's license. Please bring a physical copy to the activity.
The minimum height to ride or drive a snowmobile is 135cm (4.4 ft). If a child or participant does not fulfil this requirement, your instructor offers transportation on a sleigh pulled by their snowmobile.

Your instructor includes a transportation service from Ivalo to the meeting point in the price of the activity. Please get in touch with them once your reservation has been confirmed to set up a meeting time and place. The pick-up service starts 45 minutes before the starting time of the activity, and your instructos can pick you up from the following locations:

Discover the incredible Arctic landscapes of Finnish Lapland and explore them with an expert by your side on this 150-kilometre snowmobile excursion from Ivalo! Ivalo is a small village surrounded by wild, untouched landscapes. Located in the northeastern region of Finnish Lapland, this place is perfect to experience the unique beauty and peaceful atmosphere of the Arctic.
On the day of your advanced snowmobile excursion from Ivalo, your instructor offers a transportation service from various locations around Ivalo (please check special terms). You can also arrive at the Northern Lights Riders headquarters by yourself. Once there, your instructor will distribute the thermal overalls, shoes, gloves, and balaclavas, so you can gear up. When you're ready, your instructor will give you a thorough safety briefing and let you get familiar with the snowmobile. Don't forget that you need to have experience driving ATVs, jet skis, motorcycles, or snowmobiles, and have a good physical condition to participate in this activity.
Once you're ready, it's time to go! You'll spend around 7 to 8 hours riding over 150 kilometres of Lappish wilderness. You'll make stops to rest and take photos, as well as eat some snacks to keep you warm and active. Midway through the experience, you'll stop at a restaurant for lunch (not included). When you're well fed, you'll return to the original meeting point in Ivalo through a different route, so you can experience the many facets of Finnish Lapland.
Keep in mind that temperatures in the Arctic can range from 5 to -30 degrees Celsius, so to prepare for this wonderful snowmobile excursion from Ivalo, your instructor recommends bringing wool or thermal under layers, good middle layers, and a winter jacket that you can wear under the thermal suit if it's very cold, as well as sunglasses to protect your eyes from the brightness of the snow. Snowmobile drivers should also bring a physical copy of their driver's license.
