Chase the Northern Lights aboard an eco-friendly snowmobile in the backcountry of Levi. Welcoming adventurers from ages 4 and up on this family-friendly excursion!
Levi is a resort located in Finnish Lapland, in the municipality of Kittilä. It is situated in the northern part of Finland, near the Levi Fell, which is part of the Scandinavian mountain range. Snowmobiling is the perfect way to discover the snowy winter wonderland of this Arctic region. Like most places located in the north, this area is also an ideal spot for witnessing the magical Northern Lights!
The trip begins with pick-up from nearby locations, or meeting directly at the activity base in Levi. You will meet your experienced guide, who will go through a safety briefing and the itinerary for the day. All experience levels are welcome as you will go through a driving lesson as well. Each snowmobile is shared between two, with one driver and one passenger and the chance to switch midway. Children will sit on a sled pulled by the guide's snowmobile.
Once you are prepared with all of your gear, you will zoom through the snow following the guide, past beautiful wintry landscapes lit by the headlights of your snowmobile. The guide will lead the way, and attempt to drive your group in the direction of the Northern Lights. Should they come out that night, you will be in the prime location to see them, far from the city, in the middle of vast expanses of icy valleys, the visibility is at its absolute best.
Along the way, you and your guide will take a break to eat by a fire. Warm up by the flames as you grill sausages and nibble on flatbread and pastries with some hot drinks. If you're lucky, the Aurora Borealis will come out to dance, the cherry on top of an already magical excursion into the Arctic wilderness. After you have admired the natural phenomenon, the guide will transfer you back to Levi.

- Return to starting point
- Transfer back to pick-up point in Levi
Activity requirements
Snowmobile drivers must be at least 18 years old and hold a valid driver's license (category B). Please bring the physical copy with you on the day of the activity.
For safety reasons, children will be pulled in a sled driven by the guide's snowmobile.
Passengers must be at least 140cm / 4'9" to sit on the snowmobile. Children over the height restriction are allowed to sit on the snowmobile as a passenger when paying the adult price.
