'Sampo' Icebreaker Boat Cruise and Ice Floating Excursion in Kemi from Rovaniemi

You should plan to spend around 10 hours on this activity:

Morning Cruise:

• Pick-up from Rovaniemi
• 1.5-hour scenic drive to Kemi
• Arrival at the Kemi SnowCastle area
• Check in for the boat tour

• Board the 'Sampo' icebreaker boat
• 3.5-hour Icebreaker cruise around the Bothnian Bay
• Leave your valuables in the lockers in the boat
• Ice floating equipment distribution and preparation (the instructor will help you put the suit on)
• 5 to 7-minute Ice floating experience!
• Sail back to Kemi
• Time to visit the SnowCastle exhibition
• Return to Rovaniemi
• Drop-off at the original meeting point and end of the activity

Afternoon Cruise:

• Pick-up from Rovaniemi
• 1.5-hour scenic drive to Kemi
• Arrival at the Kemi SnowCastle area
• Time to visit the SnowCastle exhibition
• Check in for the boat tour
• Shuttle ride to the harbour
• Board the 'Sampo' icebreaker boat
• 4-hour Icebreaker cruise around the Bothnian Bay
• Leave your valuables in the lockers in the boat
• Ice floating equipment distribution and preparation (the instructor will help you put the suit on)
• 5 to 7-minute Ice floating experience!
• Sail back to Kemi
• Return to Rovaniemi
• Drop-off at the original meeting point and end of the activity

All minors must be accompanied by an adult.

The minimum height for the ice floating activity is 140 cm (4'6'').

If you want to go ice floating, it is highly recommended that you know how to swim, or at least be comfortable in the water. An instructor will be ready to help at all times, but they will not be supervising you personally all the time.

Ice floating requires a relatively good level of physical condition.

Please note that the ice floating portion of the experience will take place in groups and by turns. One group will go prepare with the equipment, step out onto the ice, ice float for 5 to 7 minutes, and while they're out, the next group will be preparing.

The cruise is not suitable for guests with reduced mobility.
