Rovaniemi is the capital of the mystical Lapland region, a haven for winter activities and cultural experiences. The region is known for its picturesque landscapes, snow forests and Arctic wilderness. Dog sledding is an enjoyable adventure which allows you to experience the nature of Lapland!

The excursion begins at the starting point in Rovaniemi (pick-up is available from listed locations upon booking). There, you will meet your friendly and experienced guide. You will start by meeting the adorable huskies and receiving a safety briefing and driving lesson for dog sledding. Each sled will be shared by 2 adults, with a team of 4-6 huskies. There will be an opportunity to switch drivers midway through the excursion.

Once the sled is all set up, you will set off into the taiga forest surrounding the kennels. The dogs will pull your sled through the remote trails just north of Rovaniemi and the Arctic Circle. Enjoy the silence of this secluded location as you mush your own dog team. You will ride for approximately 30 - 40km during the tour. Midway through, you will break to build a warm campfire. Hot drinks and a delicious lunch will be served, while you take in the stillness of the natural environment. Your guide will share insights about the history of the region. You will then head back to the dog kennels and say goodbye to your new furry friends!

Wir waren vollkommen zufrieden und hatten großen Spaß: Die Guides waren toll, die Hunde sehr süß und gut ausgebildet und das Essen in der Wildnis lecker. Man muss sich keine Gedanken über die Sicherheit machen, da eine ausführliche Einweisung gegeben und jederzeit auf das Wohlbefinden geachtet wird. Die Organisation des Programms war ausgesprochen gut und alle Mitarbeiter sehr freundlich und offen. Man hat das Gefühl, dass sich dort liebevoll um die Hunde gekümmert wird. Es war ein rundum hervorragendes Erlebnis, das wir definitiv empfehlen können!
