Rovaniemi is the capital city of Lapland, located in the north of Finland. This area experiences snowy winters and is known for its beautiful landscape. The day begins at the starting point in Rovaniemi (pickups are available within a 15km driving distance). You will meet your experienced guide and receive your snowshoeing equipment, as you will hike through the Arctic woodland to get to the fishing spot. Once you are all prepared, the adventure begins!
You will walk through the deep snow in the scenic forest until you arrive at a frozen lake. Your expert guide will assist you in drilling through thick ice and setting up the fishing equipment. Sit back, relax and wait for a fish to take the bait. While you fish, take in the magnificent view. If you're lucky enough to catch a fish, your guide will help you prepare and grill it yourself for lunch!
After some time has passed, you will enjoy a campfire barbeque meal of Lappish bread, salmon, marshmallows and hot blueberry juice (vegetarian/vegan alternative available upon request). Gather around a snow-covered campfire to sample these Lappish specialities. While you warm up, the guide will share stories and tales about the region and Arctic life. After lunch, you will return to Rovaniemi.

Course of events
- Pick-up from your accommodation or meet at the starting point in Rovaniemi
- Receive equipment and Arctic gear
- Snowshoe through the forest to a frozen lake
- The ice fishing adventure begins!
- Enjoy hot drinks and a Lappish campfire BBQ meal
- Return to starting point and transfer back to Rovaniemi
Activity requirements
Children under 12 years old must be accompanied by adults paying the full price.
Special terms
At least 2 people are required for this tour to take place on weekdays and Saturdays.
At least 4 people are required for this tour to take place on Sundays and public holidays.
