Connect with nature and enjoy an amazing wildlife moose safari in Lapland near Rovaniemi. Welcoming adventurers of all ages on this family-friendly excursion!
Rovaniemi, situated in the northern part of Finland, is surrounded by a diverse and pristine natural environment that supports various wildlife species. While the city itself is developed, the nearby forests, rivers, and national parks are home to a range of animals.
You will start the tour by meeting your guide in Rovaniemi (pickup is available within a 15km driving distance). The experienced guide is an expert on the habits of the moose and knows the best places to go to spot one of these majestic creatures.
The guide will drive you by car deep into the surrounding Lappish forests to meet the King of the Forest in its natural habitat. The moose is the most powerful and largest member of the deer species. Their weight can reach 700 kilograms and their height at shoulder height is 2.1 meters. In comparison to a reindeer, the moose is a wild and humble animal. During the safari, you will stay in the car due to animals hiding if they hear an outside sound. The best chances of spotting the moose are at sunrise and sunset, as during the day they hide in thickets.
As you drive and try to spot the moose, you can also enjoy the breathtaking view. This region features diverse landscapes, including lakes, rocky cliffs, forests, and beautiful sceneries. After the safari, you will take a break in the forest. Traditional Finnish gingerbread snacks and blueberry juice will be served while you enjoy a breathtaking sunset. Don't forget your camera to capture this moment! You will then return to Rovaniemi and be transferred back to your pick-up point.

Course of events
- Pick-up from your accommodation or meet at the starting point in Rovaniemi
- The moose safari adventure begins!
- Drive through the forest and try to spot the moose
- Break for drinks and snacks while watching the sunset
- Return to starting point and transfer back to Rovaniemi
Activity requirements
Children under 12 years old must be accompanied by adults paying the full price.

Please note that natural wildlife is unpredictable, so the presence of the moose can never be guaranteed.
At least 2 people are required for this tour to take place on weekdays and Saturdays.
At least 4 people are required for this tour to take place on Sundays and public holidays.
If the anticipated number is not reached, you will be offered a refund or the chance to reschedule.
Please be ready and wait in your hotel lobby 10 minutes prior to your scheduled pickup time.
