This excursion takes place in the remote forests from Rovaniemi. Rovaniemi is the largest city in Lapland, situated in northern Finland. The area is characterised by its stunning scenery, diverse landscapes and magnificent views. Due to its proximity to the Arctic Circle, it is also one of the best places in the world to view the famous Northern Lights.

For this evening excursion, you will be picked up from your accommodation in Rovaniemi, please specify your exact location upon booking. Your group (a maximum of 6 participants) will meet the experienced guide, who will drive you to the sauna location at Lake Haarainlampi. You will drive for approximately 30 minutes away from the urban city and into the remote Arctic forest.

Upon arrival at the location, a roaring campfire will be waiting for you. You have approximately 30 minutes of free time, you can try snowshoeing on the nearby snowy trails, relaxing in a sleeping bag in the snow, or simply sitting by the fire. Some hot Lappish drinks and grilled sausages will be served. After your time outdoors, you will enjoy the traditional barrel sauna. Warm up in the wood-heated Finnish sauna and feel the stress melt off your body. 

After the sauna, you can indulge yourself and relax in a hot tub, while savouring a cold beverage. For a truly authentic experience, end your sauna and hot tub session by submerging yourself in the cold lake water or rolling in the snow. There are shower facilities available onsite for you to freshen up after you have finished the experience. The day will end with a delicious 3-course dinner served inside a glass igloo.

You will enjoy a meal of puree soup, reindeer dish and wild berry dessert while admiring the enchanting night sky, dining under the stars. If you’re lucky, the mesmerising dance of the Northern Lights will also appear in the sky as you eat. After admiring the magical Aurora Borealis and finishing your food, the guide will transfer you back to your accommodation in Rovaniemi.
