If you're an outdoor enthusiast and a dog owner, there's a good chance you've already shared a few adventures with your four-legged companion. Canicross, cani-mountain biking — there's no shortage of options. Cani-rafting, however, is a rather rarer find. That's all about to change with the team at Tom Rafting! Fellow dog lovers themselves, they've decided to open up the Gave de Pau to four-legged adventurers, offering this activity specially designed for inseparable owners and their dogs.
A tributary of the Adour, the Gave de Pau is a river that rises from the Cirque de Gavarnie and joins the Gave d'Oloron to form the Gaves Réunis near Peyrehorade, flowing through the Landes, the Pyrenean valleys, the Pays de Nay, and Jurançon along the way. It is in Villelongue, just 10 minutes by road from Argelès-Gazost and 20 minutes from both Lourdes and Cauterets, that the Tom Rafting team will be waiting to welcome you for your cani-rafting adventure on the Gave de Pau.
On arrival, you'll be greeted by a passionate team eager to share a fun-filled moment with you and your group. Changing facilities are available on site so you can get ready, before a shuttle takes you to the starting point of the excursion. Quality equipment — regularly renewed — will of course be provided for everyone, including life jackets for all participants, dogs included!
In total, 1 hour 30 minutes of cani-rafting in the Hautes-Pyrénées awaits you between Villelongue and Argelès-Gazost, featuring Class II to III rapids: get ready to take in breathtaking wild scenery, share plenty of laughs with your group, and enjoy an extraordinary experience alongside your dog! For your safety, a guide will be present throughout the activity in the raft, offering advice on paddling techniques and the best approach for navigating the rapids.
Ready to discover a new outdoor adventure with your dog? Don't miss this unique opportunity to go cani-rafting on the Gave de Pau with the Tom Rafting team near Argelès-Gazost!
