You are dreaming of an evasion from the busy city life? Immerse yourself in the beautiful scenery of the Pyrenees Mountains on this exciting trail trip among, nature, ruins, and fortresses!

This trip is perfect for those who just want to be in harmony with nature and empty their heads for 4 days!

This 80km course will allow you to learn or improve your mountain racing techniques and skills in a fascinating setting. Your guide, passionate about the trail, but also his birthplace, will share his love and knowledge for both the sport and the region!

From hut to hut, you will cross more than 3600 meters of elevation gain, but also taste the gastronomy of Pays Cathare!

Programme:

Day 1 Roquefixade - Montferrier 16 km 800 m D+
Welcome and presentation of the ©trail voyage.

Superb course on a beautiful ridge line that takes you straight to Roquefixade Castle. Run in trail overlooking this superb medieval building.
Analysis of each person's running techniques and heart rate.
Visit and commentary of this castle in the heart of the Cathar Country with an impressive view of the Pyrenees chain.
A pleasant medieval meal will be shared in a typical troubadour atmosphere.
Overnight in a traditional guest room in Montferrier

Day 2 Montferrier - Montségur - 14 km 1300 m D+
Depending on the level, the circuit can be extended.
Run in trail on the tracks of the Cathar path that winds through a beautiful beech forest to finish facing the pog of Montségur.
An imposing castle built on a rocky peak that was defended mainly because of its difficult access. In this high place of Catharism, you will live under Fabien's comments, the secrets of this disappeared religion....
Coordination work, reinforcement of mountain development techniques, cladding...
Visit of the castle and the museum.
Occitan meal with herbs and forgotten plants...
Overnight in an inn in the village of Montségur.

Day 3 Montségur - Lordat 18 km 1200 m D+
(Optional, longer route through the summit of Soularac 20km 1500m D+)At sunrise, one last look at the Montségur pog before putting on your trail shoes. The start is given to reach the pass of the Talc quarry. Depending on the motivation of the group and the weather, we can climb the Pic du Soularac. A 1/2 vertical kilometer to walk this summit at more than 2300m. We will enjoy a break at the edge of a mountain pond.
What a pleasure to continue this long descent to Lordat Castle, also known as "the Cathar cemetery".
Visit of this castle.
Transfer and overnight at the gîte des Cabanes.

Day 4 Lordat - Miglos Castle 17 km 1000 D+
Beautiful morning trail ride to the pass overlooking the peak of St Barthélémy. Passage near the rock of Miglos known by the smugglers during the Second World War.
After a nice descent to Miglos Castle we will visit this building.
A glass of conviviality will close the stay at the Relais des Cathares before saying goodbye. We will keep good memories of this trail adventure...
